Pilates

The Pilates Method is a system of exercise developed in the 1920's by German born athlete and physical therapy pioneer, Joseph H. Pilates. Utilizing mat exercises and specialized equipment, Pilates promotes strength, flexibility, balance and alignment with special focus on core muscles. The Pilates Method tones muscles as well as strengthens joints. It stimulates circulation and makes muscular flexibility, joint range of motion and proper muscle to bone alignment possible. In addition,  Pilates promotes improved communication from nerve to muscle and muscle to fascia, heightens body awareness, and ensures greater muscular definition, coordination and control.
